Coming up next on the 24th Season, Kitchen Theatre Company is pleased to offer Steven Dietz’s powerful and movingLONELY PLANET, starring Karl Gregory and Kitchen Theatre newcomer Nat DeWolf. Lonely Planet is a witty, touching story about friendship and keeping memories alive, set against the AIDS crisis of the 1980s. Begins next week!

Meet the Cast!
Karl Gregory returns to the Kitchen Theatre Company for his 14th production! Karl was Resident Actor at the Kitchen for five seasons. Some of his favorite productions here (and ours too!) include: Gutenberg! The Musical!, Fully Committed, SantaLand Diaries, From White Plains, Swimming in the Shallows, A Perfect Ganesh, The Cripple of Inishmaan, and The Servant of Two Masters.
Nat DeWolf is new to the Kitchen Theatre. He appeared in the Broadway productions Take Me Out and Betty’s Summer Vacation as well as regional productions across the country. He is also the co-writer and co-star of the comedy-drama Lisa Picard is Famous, which was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival.

Wednesday – Friday, October 15, 16, & 17 – Preview Performances
These performances include a post-show talkback with Rachel Lampert, Kitchen Theatre Artistic Director and the director of Lonely Planet.

Thursday, October 16 – Pay What You Can Night!

An opportunity to see the play and pay the amount that works for you. Pay What You Can tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the evening of the performance. The theater box office will open at 6:30 PM, one hour before the performance. Pay What You Can Night has expanded this season thanks to the generous support of program sponsor Agava Restaurant.

“Do We Lie with Maps? We Do, and We Have No Choice”  by Boris Michev

Boris Michev is the Map & Geospatial Information Librarian in the Department of Research & Learning Services at Cornell University’s Olin/Uris Libraries. He is the subject specialist for Cartography, Geography, and Urban Studies and provides reference and instruction in these areas. He strives to introduce GIS to audiences typically unfamiliar with the possibilities in their fields. Michev is also the library liaison to the Department of City and Regional Planning.


Originally from Bulgaria, Boris Michev and his family moved to the United States in 1992 and settled down in Ithaca. He began his career at Cornell in 1993. Michev is fascinated by cartography – both its past and the opportunities the new mapping technologies offer for its future.
